Tom Klein describes the screening processed employed by Sterling Volunteers on the thousands of World Meeting of Families volunteers: "It is our most comprehensive volunteer screening in terms of its breadth and depth," Klein said. "We live in a country where criminal court records are stored at thousands of different repositories, in county courts, state departments of corrections, data bases and county and municipal repositories. To find criminal records comprehensively it takes a very wide net to be cast."
Before the World Meeting of Families and papal visit can happen, thousands of volunteers must be trained. Volunteers need background checks too. Tom Klein talks about the screening some of the 10 thousand papal volunteers in this radio interview.
