Email Whitelist Instructions – Sterling Volunteers

Providers do the best they can to keep spam out, but sometimes these programs accidently catch the wrong emails.

In order for Sterling Volunteers (@sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com) to keep you up-to-date on all of our innovative products and services, we ask that you add us to your list of senders, contacts or address book. This process is commonly known as “whitelisting.”

If you recently signed up for updates from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com but have yet to receive an email, it may be stuck in your spam folder.

First, open your spam folder. If you find an email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com open it and select the option “Not spam.” This should help to move the @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com email into your regular inbox and ensure all future communications from us arrive uninterrupted.

Next, click below on the email providers/software you use for instructions on how to ensure delivery of all requested communications from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com.

Thank you! But what if my email client/spam filter not listed?

Try adding us to your Address Book or Contacts list. If @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com messages continue to be sent to your spam folder contact your internet service provider or spam filter application support and request instructions on how to whitelist.

Note: When you add an IP address to your email whitelist, mails sent from this IP address will generally not be marked spam. If you have the ability to add an IP address to your email whitelist, please include the following IP addresses:

Gmail

To ensure @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com emails are delivered to your inbox, please add us to your Contacts list. If you still haven’t seen any emails from us, please check your Gmail Spam Folder:

  1. If you see an email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com click to open the email
  2. Click the button on the toolbar, labeled Not spam
  3. Add @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to your Contacts
  1. Open the email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com
  2. Click the drop down arrow next to Reply in the upper right side of the email from header
  3. Select Add to Contacts List from the list that appears
  4. If @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com does not appear in the dropdown list you may have already added us to Contacts

Gmail Mobile App

If you are using the Gmail Mobile App on your mobile device, or Gmail Tabs such as “Promotions,” please open the program. If you do not find an email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com, please check the Spam folder:

  1. When you find the email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com
  2. Tap the menu icon in the top right corner.
  3. Then select Move to.
  4. Then select Primary from the list.

This will ensure that all future communications from us will arrive in your inbox safely.

NOTE: “My Preferred Folder” does not exist by default in Gmail. It is listed here as an example only if a custom folder has been created by the user.

Gmail Tabs

If you are using Gmail Tabs such as “Promotions” please open your Promotions tab in Gmail.

  1. If you find an email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com in your Gmail Promotions tab grab and drag my email to the Primary Inbox Tab
  2. After doing so, you will receive an alert like the one below at the top of your Gmail toolbar.

    The conversation has been moved to “Primary”
    Do this for future messages from ? Yes

  3. Click Yes in the yellow alert box

This will ensure that all future communications from us will arrive in your inbox safely.

Yahoo! Mail

If you have not received an email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com check your Spam folder. If you see an email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com:

  1. Open the email and click the Not Spam button on the top toolbar.

To further ensure delivery of all @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com communications create a filter to automatically send emails from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to your inbox.

  1. Tap the Gear icon in the top right navigation bar
  2. Select Settings from the list that drops down
  3. Choose Filters located on the left side of the page
  4. Click the Add button on the Filters page
  5. Create a name such as Whitelist in the Filter name field
  6. In the From field leave the default contains selected
  7. Enter our email address in the text box next to Contains
  8. Choose the destination folder where you would like @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com emails delivered (typically Inbox) and click Save
  9. You will see in the next screen “Deliver to Inbox if From contains
  10. Click or tap Save on this screen

iPhone Mail App

iPhone Mail identifies most junk mail sent to your @icloud.com address, but it can mistakenly move emails to your Junk folder.

Check the Junk folder for email messages that were mistakenly marked as junk. To mark that an email message isn’t junk and to move it to your inbox:

  1. Open your Mail app and go to the Mailboxes screen
  2. Scroll down to the folders area
  3. Select the Junk folder
  4. Find the email from Sterling Volunteers (@sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com) and slide left to see options
  5. Tap the More button.
  6. Tap the Mark button.
  7. Tap the Mark as Not Junk button.

The message is moved to your Inbox and subsequent email messages from will no longer be marked as junk. By default, messages in the Junk folder are deleted after 30 days, so be sure to check it often to whitelist relevant emails.

Outlook Mobile App

To add @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to the list of Focused Inbox on the Outlook app please open the mobile Outlook app on your Android, Microsoft or iPhone:

Open the email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com

  1. Click the dropdown menu your Inbox.
  2. On the menu displayed tap Move to Focused Inbox
  3. Select the Move this and all future messages button.
  4. Click Move
  5. Now all future messages from will appear in your Focused Inbox

Now all future messages from will appear in your Focused Inbox. You can also remove unwanted emails from your Focused Inbox by repeating this process in the Focused tab.

Outlook 2003, Outlook 2016 and Outlook Office 365

To add Sterling Volunteers to the list of “Safe senders” on Outlook:

  1. Right click a @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com email in your Inbox email list pane
  2. On the menu displayed click Junk
  3. Click Never block sender in the menu
  4. The resulting popup will say: “The sender of the selected message has been added to your Safe Senders List”
  5. Click OK

To add @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to address book:

  1. Open the email
  2. Right click on the From email address
  3. Choose Add to contacts option

Inbox by Gmail

To ensure @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com communications are delivered to a preferred folder in Inbox, add us to the preferred folder, or a folder of your choice.

NOTE: “My Preferred Folder” is a demonstration. You must create your own My Preferred Folder by clicking + Create New yourself.

Please check your Inbox Spam Folder or your Promotions bundle:.

  1. When you see an email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com open it
  2. Then click the icon.
  3. Next please add @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to your My Preferred Folder
  4. If you have not already created a My Preferred Folder, you may do so by clicking + Create new…

Outlook.com

Previously “Hotmail,” “Live,” “Windows Live” and “MSN”

In the new Outlook.com click the Wait it’s safe link if you find emails incorrectly identified as spam.

Entering the email contact in the address book or contacts no longer whitelists the sender.

To ensure messages from specific email addresses are not sent to your Junk Email folder, you can do one of two things:

  1. Check the Junk folder
  2. Open the email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com
  3. Click the Wait it’s safe link and mark sender as safe

Manually Add to Safe List

  1. Click gear the icon on the top right
  2. Select Options in the drop down list
  3. On the Options page under Preventing junk email click Safe and blocked senders
  4. Click the link Safe senders on the next page
  5. Enter the email address that contains @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com in the text box
  6. Click Add to list
  7. @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com will now be added to your list of Safe senders

Emails added to your Safe senders will not be delivered by mistake to your Junk folder.

AOL Webmail

To ensure @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com communications are delivered to your AOL Inbox please follow these two steps:

If you find a @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com email in the spam folder:

  1. Right click the email.
  2. Click “Not spam” in the resulting list.

Add to your Address Book:

  1. Open the email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com
  2. Click the Show details link next to in the From field
  3. Click to show the menu
  4. Click Add contact in the menu displayed
  5. Add to the name fields
  6. Click Add contact

Emails from us will now be delivered safely to your Inbox.

Comcast

Please log into your Xfinity account and select your Comcast webmail:

  1. Locate the @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com email in your Spam folder
  2. Click the Spam (not spam) icon on the top toolbar.

Next, you can add @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to your address book:

  1. Please open the email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com
  2. Click the button in the top left of the email that says:
  3. This will open your edit contact screen
  4. Then click Save and you’re all done!

AT&T

AT&T no longer maintains their own inbox. Instead, you can find your AT&T emails at Att.Yahoo.com.

Please follow the Yahoo instructions for whitelisting an ATT.net email address.

Mozilla Thunderbird

To ensure the delivery of all @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com communications to your Mozilla Thunderbird inbox, please follow these steps:

  1. Please open your Thunderbird email client
  2. If a @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com email appears in your Junk Folder, mark that message as Not Junk

Next, please add to your Address Book:

  1. Click the Address Book button
  2. Make sure the Personal Address Book is highlighted
  3. Click the New Contact button
  4. Under the Contact tab, copy and paste the @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com “From” address into the email text box
  5. Click OK

All future communications from us should arrive to your Thunderbird email safely.

Security Software

Norton AntiSpam

@sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com communications may not arrive if accidentally added to the blocked list of the email server.

To remove from the Blocked List:

  1. Open Norton AntiSpam program
  2. Click Settings
  3. Depending on the Norton product, do one of the following:

For Norton 360:

  1. In the Settings window, under Detailed Settings, click AntiSpam
  2. On the Filter tab, next to Blocked list, click Configure

For Norton Internet Security:

  1. In the Settings window, on the Network tab, click Message Protection
  2. Under AntiSpam, next to Blocked list, click Configure.
  3. In the Blocked List window, select the item that you want to remove, and then click Remove
  4. Click Apply, and then click OK
  5. If you do not find @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com in the Blocked list, proceed to the next step

To add to the Allowed List:

  1. Open Norton AntiSpam program
  2. Click Settings
  3. Depending on your Norton program, do one of the following:

For Norton 360:

  1. In the Settings window, under Detailed Settings, click AntiSpam
  2. On the Filter tab, next to Allowed List, click Configure

For Norton Internet Security:

  1. In the Settings window under the Network tab, click Message Protection
  2. Under AntiSpam, next to Allowed list, click Configure
  3. In the Allowed list window, click Add
  4. In the Add Email Address window, from the Address Type drop-down, select the address type
  5. Add the @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com email address and then click OK
  6. In the Allowed List window, click Apply, and then click OK

McAfee Products

While McAfee has removed spam protection in the latest Anti-Virus software, you may still have a version that offers spam filtering.

  1. In order to add @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to the Friends whitelist, please open McAfee and click on Web & Email Protection
  2. Then click on AntiSpam. This is where you can see various settings and change the spam protection level, change filter settings, etc.
  3. Click on Friends list
  4. Please add @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to your Friends list to ensure that all future emails arrive safely

Trend Micro

If an email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com was incorrectly sent to the Spam Mail folder by the Anti-Spam Toolbar you can prevent this from occurring again with the following steps:

  1. Add @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com the to the list of Approved Senders
  2. Decrease the Spam Email Filter Strength

Note: You can also select the email and click Not Spam to report it to Trend Micro. However, this feature serves only as a reference to their spam database, and it may ensure future communications from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com Sterling Volunteers arrive safely to your inbox.

Add @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to the list of Approved Senders:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook
  2. Click the Spam Mail folder then select the @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com email detected as spam
  3. Click Approve Sender on the toolbar
  4. Click Yes when the confirmation message appears

Decrease the Spam Email Filter Strength:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook
  2. Click Trend Micro Anti-Spam then click Settings
  3. On the Spam Filter tab, move the slider bar to select a lower filter strength
  4. Click OK to save your settings

Spam Filters

Cloudmark SpamNet

Cloudmark filters email based on content footprints. To ensure that @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com emails have not been marked as spam:

  1. Select Cloudmark | Options from the Cloudmark SpamNet toolbar in Outlook
  2. Click Advanced and go to the Whitelist tab
  3. Click Add button
  4. Enter the email address with the @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com domain
  5. Click OK
  6. Click OK
  7. Click Yes
  8. Click OK

SaneBox

Sanebox is a filtering system trained by you. To ensure that @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com communications arrive safely please follow these steps:

  1. Open your Webmail or Gmail where you use SaneBox
  2. Open your @SaneLater folder
  3. If you find an email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com or an email from @SaneLater please drag the email to your Inbox folder

Now, future @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com emails will arrive safely in your inbox.

Spam Assassin

Spam Assassin is commonly administered by your server administrator. To ensure that future @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com communication arrive safely please contact your admin and request that they:

  1. Add the following entry to your user_prefs file, which is found in the. spamassassin subdirectory on your web/mail server
  2. whitelist_from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com
  3. Save the user_prefs file or move the updated copy to your .spamassassin subdirectory.

Barracuda Networks

Occasionally, Barracuda Spam Firewall will mark a legitimate message as spam. There are two methods to whitelist @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com and ensure future communications from us arrive safely.

Whitelist Quarantined Senders:

  1. Open your email client. Barracuda should send you a summary each day listing quarantined items. Choose the email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com
  2. Click Whitelist, which is in green print to the right of the email title. This will open your list in a web browser
  3. Select the email to be whitelisted and at the top of the page, click Whitelist

Barracuda will not block or quarantine the sender whose email address appears on the whitelist so @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com emails will arrive safely in the future.

Whitelist Senders and Domains:

  1. Open your web browser. Navigate to your company’s Barracuda firewall homepage
  2. Click on the Block/Accept tab
  3. Choose Sender Domain Block/Accept and enter the Domain name: svus.wpengine.com
  4. Click Add
  5. Click your mouse on the Email Sender Block/Accept tab and enter: svus.wpengine.com
  6. Click Add, and in the future Barracuda will not block emails from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com

Most Used Spam Filters

SPAMfighter

Highlight the email from @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com to Whitelist. Click More in the SPAMfighter Toolbar and select Whitelist. Here you can choose if you want to Whitelist the @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com email address or the whole Domain. To be sure that all emails from contacts in your Outlook get through to you, you may wish to import and Whitelist them.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click More in the SPAMfighter toolbar
  2. Then Options
  3. Then Filter settings
  4. Then Blacklists & Whitelists
  5. Then Whitelist Sterling Volunteers (@sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com) email address
  6. Then Import
  7. Select your Address Book and click on Check all
  8. Click Add
  9. Click Apply

If a pop-up box appears offering you to upgrade to SPAMfighter Pro, it is because you have exceeded the limit of 100 email addresses. You may either purchase SPAMfighter Pro or delete some of the addresses in your Black/White list. If you want to delete addresses, please go to:

  1. Click More in the SPAMfighter toolbar
  2. Then Options
  3. Then Filter settings
  4. Then Blacklists & Whitelists

Mail Washer

  1. Click Tools, then Blacklist & Friends.
  2. Click Add on the right, the Friends list side.
  3. Make sure Plain email address is selected.
  4. Type: @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click OK.

ChoiceMail

  1. Open ChoiceMail
  2. Click on the Senders tab
  3. Choose Approve another Sender
  4. Type in the Sterling Volunteers (@sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com) email address
  5. Click on OK

Spam Sleuth

  1. Select File, then Configure
  2. Go to the Friends category
  3. Make sure Active is checked
  4. Type the @sterlingvolunteers.com and @e.sterlingvolunteers.com email address on a line by itself in the entry field.
  5. Click OK
